AMMAN — The Jordanian Electric Power Company (JEPCO) received around 1,000 calls and dealt with 120 electricity failures during the past three days, Hassan Abdullah, JEPCO’s power grid manager, said Monday.
He noted that three failures were registered on the medium-voltage grid, 33 on the low-voltage grid and 86 were regular individual failures.
Abdullah also said that JEDCO’s personnel implemented a round-the-clock work plan during the Eid Al Fitr holiday starting from Thursday afternoon to guarantee that subscribers received electricity undisrupted.
He added that the reported power disruptions lasted for an average of one hour, calling on subscribers within the company’s distribution area — covering Amman, Zarqa, Madaba and Balqa governorates — to reduce their power consumption to ensure the continuity of supply.
