JEDCO signs agreements for 50 entrepreneurial projects

AMMAN — The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), in cooperation with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), on Thursday signed 50 agreements to establish 50 entrepreneurial projects across the Kingdom.
JEDCO has received 2,070 requests to benefit from the "Behematikom" programme to support youth projects, where 70 per cent of which have been eligible, Maamoun Abu Shawar, head of JEDCO Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department, said.
The entrepreneurs handed over the work plans to undergo technical evaluation by a joint committee from JEDCO and KAFD, he said, adding that several interviews with the entrepreneurs and field visits were conducted to choose the top 50 projects, according to a statement.
Abu Shawar added that under the agreements, technical and financial support will be provided for 50 entrepreneurial projects for 50 young people. He also noted that financial grants will be provided to implement the new projects or develop the existing ones.
The winning projects included three in Irbid, two in Balqa, two in Zarqa, seven in Tafileh, three in Aqaba, five in Karak, six in Mafraq, two in Jerash, four in Madaba, eight in Amman, four in Maan and four in Ajloun.
