JCC president meets with Lebanese economy minister in Beirut

AMMAN — President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Khalil Hajj Tawfiq and Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade Amin Salam on Wednesday in Beirut discussed means to enhance economic ties, and how the private sector can contribute to this goal.

Hajj Tawfiq and Salam explored practical measures to improve trade exchange without routine procedures, with both stressing the need to activate standing bilateral agreements, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The meeting focused on the importance of coordinating economic delegation visits and holding joint exhibitions. Salam affirmed his country's commitment to boosting economic relations with Jordan and improving cooperation between the Jordanian and Lebanese private sectors.

Jordan’s exports to Lebanon in 2022 amounted to approximately JD51 million, while the value of imports reached around JD80 million, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
