Japan to provide $29m to NGOs, international organisations

AMMAN — The Japanese government has decided to provide $29 million this year to international organisations and non-governmental organisations operating in the Kingdom in order to offer humanitarian services to Syrian refugees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The report said that the aid will also be used to help host communities and prevent terrorism and extremism, noting that total Japanese aid to organisations operating in the Kingdom stood at $59 million in 2016.
