AMMAN — The Northern Military Zone on Monday foiled an infiltration and smuggling attempt from Syria into Jordan, according to a source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF).
The source added that personnel at the zone applied the rules of engagement, which led to the injury of a number of infiltrators, the arrest of one and forcing others to retreat to Syria, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Searching the area, army personnel found 126 palm-sized sheets of hashish and 20,000 Captagon pills, which all were referred to the concerned authorities. The source also added that the JAF will continue to “deal firmly” with any infiltration or smuggling attempt to safeguard the public and the Kingdom’s security.
