Int’l conference on Jerusalem to kick off October 23

AMMAN — The Global Forum for Moderation, in cooperation with the Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue and the International Union of Muslim Scholars, is scheduled to organise an international conference titled “Jerusalem: History and mankind” next month.
The forum said that the event, to be held between October 23 and 24, is expected to attract more than 100 scholars, researchers and Muslim and Christian clergy members, in addition to several academic figures, intellectuals, professors and heads of international organisations from 30 countries, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The conference will discuss more than 20 research papers on topics related to the Hashemite Custodianship and its role in protecting Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, the religious, historical and human status of the holy city, and the responsibility of international, regional, political and human rights institutions regarding Israeli violations.
