Int’l conference on reconstruction of war-torn countries kicks off

AMMAN — The 11th Jordan International Building, Construction and Engineering Industries Exhibition kicks off on Monday, in parallel with the International Exhibition for the Reconstruction of Syria and Countries of Conflict, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The exhibition, which is organised by the Jordan Construction Contractors Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and Marvellous Universal, will see the participation of the largest contracting, consultancy, investment, engineering and industrial companies from Turkey, India, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Palestine and Jordan.
The exhibition will include companies specialised in all areas of construction, such as architecture, decoration, housing and electromechanical installations, among others, Petra added.
The two-day event, which will run in parallel with the International Conference on the Reconstruction of Syria, will discuss the role of Arab and international governments and organisations in developing projects for reconstruction, infrastructure, transportation and alternative energy projects in light of the fluctuating world prices of fossil fuels.
The conference will also discuss the economic, cultural and social reconstruction of war-torn countries, in addition to drafting a plan for constructing technologically advanced, green and smart buildings in countries affected by conflicts, according to Petra.
Participants will also cover the social development aspect of reconstruction projects for the refugees and displaced persons.
The conference will be attended by ministers, Arab and foreign officials as well as experts in the construction, housing, engineering, energy, investment and banking sectors, Petra concluded.
