AMMAN — The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) will begin inspection campaigns on Sunday to ensure that new regulations banning the use of plastic bags for bread, fruit and vegetable purchases are being followed, JFDA Director Hayel Obeidat said Saturday.
He added that JFDA field monitoring teams in Amman, Irbid, Karak and Zarqa will start the campaign on Sunday, with campaigns in other governorates to be later coordinated with health departments.
Obeidat noted the inspection will include sweets shops to ensure they are not using artificial colours in knafeh.
