AMMAN — The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and Germany’s Agency for International Development (GIZ) have launched an initiative in Amman to address the challenge of providing sustainable jobs for young people in the region, the UfM said on Thursday.
The “YouMatch – Toolbox Project” helps policymakers, private sector representatives and civil society to start a dialogue on innovative solutions to provide employment services for youths, focusing on the link between labour supply and demand, the UfM said in a statement.
The project aims to promote regional knowledge sharing about youth unemployment, the UfM added. A two-day regional dialogue on employment concluded in Amman on Wednesday, and the initiative will be presented at the UfM ministerial meeting on labour and employment in September.
