Inflation rises in August compared with same period last year

AMMAN — The inflation rate in August rose 5.3 per cent, compared with August 2017, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Wednesday.
DoS figures, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said the increases were led by more expensive transportation (1.82 per cent), cereals and their products, (1.11 per cent), and tobacco and cigarettes (0.59 per cent)
