AMMAN — Indonesia’s Ambassador to Jordan Teguh Wardoyo visited Tkiyet Um Ali on Wednesday, along with representatives from the Indonesian Women’s Association in Amman, according to a statement released by the organisation.
Tkiyet Um Ali is a non-governmental organisation which provides between 350 and 400 hot meals a day to Jordan’s underprivileged.
Wardoyo donated food and money on behalf of the Indonesian people to the project, in part to mark Indonesian Mother’s Day, celebrated on December 22.
Tkiyet Um Ali Director General Samer Balker expressed his gratitude to the ambassador, adding that he looks forward “to building a long-term relationship with the Indonesian embassy in Jordan, as well as the government of Indonesia”.
Tkiyet Um Ali was founded in 2003 by HRH Princess Haya. It combines a model of sustainable food with humanitarian aid, the statement said.
