Improving education ‘a national interest’ — Thneibat
By Petra - Feb 28,2015 - Last updated at Feb 28,2015
AMMAN – Education Minister Mohammad Thneibat on Saturday said the Kingdom’s national interest requires improving the quality of education.
At a conference held by the Lower House-based “Mubadara” group, he noted that the ministry is “working on many files” and that it is “unfair” to expect it to perform “miracles in a short period of time”.
Thneibat underlined the need to revive vocational education through coordination between all concerned bodies, including the private sector.
Participants at the event drew up a plan to improve the education process as a prerequisite for economic and social reform.
The plan focused on the Awqaf Ministry’s role in revisiting religion education and showing the true essence of Islam as a tolerant religion.
