AMMAN – The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Sunday published the financial disclosure forms of tickets and candidates on its website, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The forms provide information about the electoral campaigns’ source of income and expenditure. Article 15 of the executive regulations of electoral campaigns stipulates that every ticket must open a bank account that jointly belongs to its candidates.
Each ticket must also commit to appointing a legal auditor to handle its account and report information about income and spending to the IEC.
Also on Sunday, the IEC said that damaging electoral campaign material like banners and posters is a violation.
The Elections Law stipulates three months to one year in prison and a fine of JD200 to JD5,000 for those who destroy candidates’ promotional materials.
