IEC chairman, Tunisian ambassador review means of cooperation

AMMAN — Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) Musa Maaytah and Tunisian Ambassador to Jordan Mufida Zaribi on Wednesday reviewed cooperation aspects between the two sides. Maaytah outlined the IEC’s preparations to hold the upcoming parliamentary elections as per the effective Elections Law, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also emphasised that the recent Constitutional amendments and laws regulating the political life in Jordan have contributed to accelerating the political reform process.
Zaribi called for enhancing Jordanian-Tunisian relations and implementing projects concerned with women's empowerment, political modernisation, and establishing a "real" partnership between IEC and its Tunisian counterpart in a bid to serve both sides' interests.
