AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Monday dispatched a humanitarian aid convoy to the Gaza Strip.

JHCO Secretary General Ayman Mifleh said the five-truck convoy, laden with 2,000 food parcels, was a donation from Kuwait’s Layan voluntary team, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The humanitarian assistance will be handed over to the Palestine Red Crescent Society, which will distribute it to families in need in the coastal enclave, Mifleh added.

The Layan voluntary team organised a fundraising campaign calling for donations in Gulf countries over the past year to secure humanitarian aid to Gaza before the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid Al Fitr.
