AMMAN — Minister of Public Works and Housing Sami Halaseh on Wednesday checked on the rehabilitation work of the road connecting the Zarqa Free Trade Zone, Azraq and the Saudi border crossing (Al Omari).
The project features a 110-kilometre road of four lanes to improve traffic safety.
Halaseh, who was accompanied by technicians from the Saudi Development Fund, noted that the $270 million needed to carry out the project was secured as a grant from Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz.
The minister and the Saudi officials also visited a school on Wednesday in Wadi Al Seer to check on progress in building Saudi-funded extensions to the facility.
