House speaker, Turkish ambassador discuss economic cooperation

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Erdem Ozan on Sunday discussed means to enhance joint relations, especially in parliamentary fields. Safadi stressed the importance of boosting Jordanian-Turkish economic cooperation to serve joint interests, calling for enhancing collaboration and coordination, which would contribute to achieving the region's security and stability and supporting the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. For his part, Ozan expressed his country's "great" appreciation for Jordan's position, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in providing aid and relief following the earthquake that hit Turkey in February. He also stressed the significance of strengthening economic cooperation, adding that a delegation of Turkish businesspeople is scheduled to visit the Kingdom in September.
