House speaker, Saudi Shura Council head discuss parliamentary ties

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and his accompanying parliamentary delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh on Sunday.

The delegation was received by the Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council, Abdullah Al Sheikh. Safadi stressed the depth of relations between the two countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah and the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, expressing the keenness to enhance joint parliamentary cooperation to serve the peoples of the two countries and the central issues of nations, according to a statement issued by the House of Representatives.

The speaker of the Saudi Shura Council welcomed Safadi and his delegation, adding that he is looking forward to this visit, which contributes to strengthening relations, especially parliamentary relations between the Lower House of Parliament and the Saudi Shura Council.  Safadi and Al Sheikh are expected to hold official talks on Monday at the headquarters of the Saudi Shura Council.
