House speaker, India’s envoy discuss ways to foster ties

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh and India’s Ambassador to Jordan Anil Trigunayat on Tuesday discussed the latest developments in the region as well as ways to boost the relations between Jordan and India.
During a meeting at the Parliament, Tarawneh briefed Trigunayat on the situation in Palestine and on Israel’s repeated acts of aggression against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The speaker also highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in dealing with the impact of regional conditions.
Trigunayat said India seeks to increase its cooperation with Jordan, stressing the importance of increasing expertise exchange and activating the Jordanian-Indian Friendship Association.
