AMMAN — The Lower House on Monday referred several draft laws to its specialised committees.
During the session chaired by Lower House Speaker Ahmed Safadi and attended by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, the Lower House referred a draft law ratifying the extradition agreement between the governments of Jordan and Cyprus, and a bill cancelling an oil shale concession agreement between the Natural Resources Authority and the Jordan Oil Shale Company, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Chamber also referred an amendment to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority Law, a draft amending the land registration fees law and the amended civil status bill to the concerned committees.
During the session, MPs asked the government to take "positive and serious" action to alleviate economic burdens on citizens, including reducing fuel prices — particularly kerosene and diesel during winter — and address economic challenges facing Jordan.
