AMMAN — The Lower House Palestine Committee met on Tuesday with Prime Minister Hani Mulki and a number of ministers.
MP Yihya Saud, who chairs the committee, raised issues related to the living conditions of Gazan and Palestinian refugee camp residents in Jordan. “We are not asking to give Gazans nationalities or national numbers, but we are seeking to facilitate issues regarding healthcare and education,” the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted the lawmaker as saying.
Mulki asserted that Jordan is the closest and most prominent defender of Palestinians’ rights, stressing that the government will work to develop infrastructure in Palestinian camps.
Education Minister Mohammed Thneibat said his ministry has instructed education directorates to offer Gazan students free education and school books, as is the case with children of Jordanian women married to foreigners.
