House panel to begin discussing draft budget today

AMMAN — The Lower House Finance Committee on Monday will start discussing the draft laws for the state budget and the budget of independent government units for 2017, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
House Finance Committee Chairman Ahmad Safadi confirmed on Sunday that as of today, the committee will discuss the details of the state budget with the government.
Also on Sunday, during a Lower House session, MPs referred the Audit Bureau's report for 2015 to the Finance Committee, Petra reported.
The bureau annually presents a report to the Upper and Lower Houses of Parliament, in accordance with the Constitution, at the beginning of every ordinary session. The report lists the findings of the bureau's monitoring of agencies under its mandate.
