House fire claims life of 16-year-old in Arhaba district

AMMAN — A 16-year-old girl was killed and a woman was injured on Sunday evening after a house fire broke out in their home in the Arhaba district of Irbid Governorate, according to a Civil Defence Department (CDD) statement.
The statement said that CDD firefighters managed to put out the flames, but the girl died as a result of suffocation, while the woman sustained burns all over her body, the statement added.
The media office added that CDD personnel evacuated the body to Princess Haya Military Hospital and provided first aid to the injured woman, who was reported to be in a moderate condition.
