AMMAN — The Lower House’s Education and Culture Committee has made a number of recommendations that aim to boost the outcomes of higher education, the head of the committee, Ibrahim Bdour, said on Monday.
According to Bdour, the recommendations include forming a committee comprising institutions relevant to higher education to unify efforts, achieve a joint vision for the sector and cut red tape, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Also as part of the recommendations, Bdour pointed to the importance of holding a national examination, which would cover all students and stipulate a condition for graduation.
He also stressed the need to standardise curricula for all majors at all universities to guarantee the quality of education. Jordanian universities are “doing fine” but need to review some of their educational policies, Bdour noted.
