AMMAN — The process of raising objections regarding prospective candidates in the upcoming local elections will start on Monday, according to Independent Election Commission (IEC) spokesperson Jihad Momani. He said that the process will last for three days, ending this Wednesday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Momani explained that each voter included in the final voters’ lists can object to the candidacy of any candidate in their area, on the condition that they provide evidence to the Court of First Instance, noting that the IEC will be bound by the court’s decisions. He pointed out that the courts will provide the IEC with the final results of its decisions, after considering the applications, Petra reported.
