AMMAN — Minister of Health Firas Hawari on Saturday attended the opening of the Sakib and Jibeh primary health centres in Jerash, as part of the series of inaugurations launched by the ministry since the beginning of the year.

The Sakib Primary Health Centre was built with a grant from the Saudi Fund at a cost of JD1.3 million and covers an area of about 1,100 square metres, while the Jibeh Health Centre, covering an area of 650 square metres, was built with a Kuwaiti grant of JD1.2 million, Hawari said, commending the support of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to the Ministry of Health in developing infrastructure.

The minister affirmed that the ministry is making progress in expanding and developing the infrastructure of its hospitals and health centres to improve the quality of healthcare services and increase satisfaction levels, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The Sakib Centre offers healthcare services for approximately 4,500 citizens per month from the Sakib region, which has a population of more than 20,000, and surrounding areas.

The centre provides medical services through general, dental, family medicine, laboratory, outpatient and emergency clinics, including mother and child care, family planning and immunisation.

The Jibeh Health Centre serves approximately 1,700 people per month from Jibeh village and surrounding areas. The centre provides health services through general medical, dental, maternal and child care, family planning, immunisation, laboratory, outpatient and emergency clinics.
