Health, awqaf ministries to raise pilgrims’ awareness on MERS

AMMAN — The ministries of health and awqaf will organise awareness campaigns for pilgrims on precautions to take to avoid contracting the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus.
Bashir Qasir, director of the Health Ministry’s primary healthcare department, said the campaign will include distributing brochures to pilgrims containing instructions that include washing hands, using handkerchiefs when coughing and sneezing, and avoiding touching their eyes and noses as much as possible.
