Hawatmeh, Malik discuss Jordanian-US joint security cooperation

AMMAN — Gendarmerie Department Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh on Wednesday met with US Chargé d’Affaires Paul R. Malik, and an accompanying delegation, over means to enhance joint security cooperation, especially in the fields of combating terrorism and exchanging technical and training expertise.
During the meeting, Hawatmeh congratulated Malik on his appointment as charge d'affaires of the US embassy in Amman, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Malik also commended the "advanced" level of the department both locally and internationally, expressing the US’s keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination in the security fields to serve the interests of both countries.
