AMMAN — Public Works and Housing Minister Sami Halaseh on Wednesday, accompanied by a delegation from USAID, toured several schools in Amman to check on recently built additional classrooms.
Halaseh visited the Um Anas School in Shafa Badran, which is part of a JD19-million project that targets 27 schools and includes building additional classrooms, kindergartens and renovating old schools, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister said that a meeting was recently held in the presence of representatives of USAID, the ministry and the contractor, to review the progress and the quality of work. He added that the 27 schools are the first stage of a USAID grant that includes similar work in 200 other schools.
