AMMAN — Public Works Minister Sami Halaseh on Thursday checked on the implementation of the first stage of the Amman Development Corridor, financed by a grant from the United Arab Emirates through the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
The minister checked on new technologies used by the contractor in asphalt levelling.
He said the project is being implemented through a JD60 million grant, and that it was previously delayed due to the lack of funds.
Around 90 per cent of the work on the 25-kilometre road, which extends from the airport road to Al Madouneh in east Amman, has been completed, Halaseh said.
The road is expected to open for traffic in August this year.
