Great Arab Revolt flag hoisted in Aqaba

AMMAN — Deputising for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, Brig. Gen. Saber Mahayrah, head of human resources and logistics, on Friday attended the ceremony to change and hoist the Great Arab Revolt flag in Aqaba.
The ceremony was held at the Great Arab Revolt Square, which has the second highest (127 metres) flagpole in the Kingdom.
The square also houses the home of Sharif Hussein Bin Ali and the Aqaba Castle. Senior officers and officials attended the ceremony. Sharif Hussein, the great-great-grandfather of His Majesty King Abdullah launched the Revolt in June 1916 against the Ottoman rule, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
