Government to introduce amendments to income tax draft law

AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and the government’s economic team on Tuesday discussed the income tax draft law to introduce amendments to the bill, in response to remarks that the Senate and the private sector have made regarding the key piece of legislation.
The premier, who chaired the meeting at the Prime Ministry, stressed that economic legislation should work to stimulate investments and promote the business environment in the Kingdom.
The Senate has endorsed the income tax draft law as it was submitted from the Lower House, while proposing to the government amendments to the bill.
Ensour said the government will positively deal with the Senate’s recommendation in this regard.
