AMMAN — The Labour Ministry said on Sunday it will crack down on unlicensed offices illegally recruiting domestic helpers, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry said some offices may be involved in encouraging guest workers to illegally change their employers, taking advantage of workers’ lack of knowledge of labour laws.

During a meeting with Khaled Hseinat, the president of the Domestic Helpers Recruitment Agencies Association, Labour Minister Ali Ghezawi discussed the procedures of cracking down on unlicensed recruitment offices. Meanwhile, Hseinat said the association is ready to cooperate with the ministry to ensure all offices comply with the law.
