AMMAN — Minister of State for Media Affairs Jumana Ghunaimat on Wednesday participated in the 50th meeting of the Arab media ministers council that was held in Cairo in the presence of Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Arab media ministers discussed 18 items on the meeting’s agenda, the most important of which were the Palestinian issue and the unilateral US decision recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Ghunaimat, who is also the government spokesperson, said that the relevant decisions of the council of Arab media ministers are “fully harmonious” with the Jordanian stance that always supports the Palestinian right to establish an independent state.
The minister stressed that Jordan will continue defending Jerusalem as part of the historical Hashemite Custodianship over its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
