AMMAN — A delegation from the German Bundestag, led by Steffen-Claudio Lemme, began a visit to Amman on Thursday with the aim of selecting the most suitable participants for the German Bundestag’s scholarship programme from amongst a large number of applicants, according to a German embassy statement.
For the third time, around 20 Arab graduates and young professionals will be given the opportunity in autumn 2014 to spend four weeks getting to know the Bundestag and Germany’s political system.
Those selected to take part in the programme will accompany members of the Bundestag whilst they go about their work in parliament and in their constituencies, as well as attending cultural events, lectures and workshops.
Also on Thursday, the Bundestag delegation held talks with head of the Lower House Jordanian-German Friendship Committee, Deputy Yousef Qorneh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
