German Academic Exchange Service holds scholarships awarding ceremony

AMMAN — The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on Tuesday organised a ceremony to celebrate the awarding of scholarships to nine Jordanian students to pursue their doctoral research in Germany.
Benjamin Schmäling, Director of the DAAD Regional Office Amman, Leonie Lorenz, Cultural Attaché at the German embassy as well as a number of professors and students from various Jordanian universities attended the event, according to a DAAD statement sent to The Jordan Times.
DAAD, which annually grants several scholarships for Jordanian and Arab researchers, opened its regional office in Amman in 2021.
In addition to its support to students, postgraduates and researchers from Jordan and Germany through individual scholarship programmes and project funding, DAAD also supports several university cooperation projects between Jordan and Germany in different funding lines, such as “transformation partnerships”, “higher education dialogue” and “transnational education”, according to the statement.
