Gendarmerie chief orders establishment of department in Aqaba

AMMAN — Gendarmerie Department Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh issued directives on Sunday to establish an Aqaba Gendarmerie Department. The step is in line with the new restructuring plans of the Gendarmerie Department.

The move is also intended to guarantee quality services, boost security and increase tourism, according to the Gendarmerie Department, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
