Galaxy Note 7 still banned in Jordan — telecom commission

By JT - Oct 10,2016 - Last updated at Oct 10,2016

AMMAN — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) on Monday said it had not issued any approvals to allow the entry of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 into the Kingdom, after the Korean company warned against some manufacturing errors in the device.

TRC said it would not allow the import of the smartphone until it confirms that the device has no technical problems, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The commission added that it did not approve the entry of new alternative devices that Samsung had released internationally because the new phones did not fully meet TRC’s requirements. The TRC called on consumers to return their Note 7 devices to local dealers so as to avoid any damages.
