French ambassador visits education for employment programme

AMMAN — French Ambassador to Jordan David Bertolotti on Sunday visited the “Amal” project (“hope” in English) and checked on the quality of the project’s vocational training programmes.

The project is carried out by Jordan Education for Employment’s (JEFE) Programme and held at the Jordan Hospitality & Tourism Education Company (JHTEC) to empower young Jordanians and Syrians, according to a JEFE statement.

The 2 million euro project, funded by France through the French Agency for Development, is implemented by the JEFE to provide vocational training to 1,350 young Jordanians and Syrians within three years in order to enable them to access the job market, the statement added.

The JEFE, in partnership with JHTEC, carried out the vocational aspect of hospitality training in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, according to the statement.

During the visit, Bertolotti stressed the importance of training youth in the Kingdom’s “promising” sectors, especially in the hotel and tourism fields, the statement said.
