Four dead in fire, road accidents around Jordan

AMMAN — A worker died on Tuesday in a fire that erupted in a cardboard factory in Jiza, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted Madaba Civil Defence Department (CDD) Director Lt. Col. Ghassan Khatatbeh as saying.
Khatatbeh said the blaze damaged most of the factory’s premises and an investigation into its causes is still under way.
Also on Tuesday, a 52-year-old woman died and two people were injured when their vehicle overturned in Karak’s Swaqa area.
CDD cadres took the injured to Qatraneh Health Centre where they were listed in fair condition. In another incident, an 80-year-old man died when he was hit by a vehicle in Zarqa. On the Aqaba highway, a motorist died when his vehicle collided with an oil tanker, the CDD said.
