Former actor, senator Nabil Mashini passes away

AMMAN — Actor and former senator Nabil Mashini passed away on Saturday at the age of 79. Mashini, who started his career in media, was known for his participation in shows that highlighted citizens’ concerns and presented their causes in a critical way, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The late actor’s works were known across the Arab world through the characters he played with a “high level of proficiency”. Minister of Culture and Youth Muhammad Abu Rumman mourned Mashini’s passing, and expressed his condolences to Mashini’s family.
Mashini was born in 1939 and was president of the Jordan Artists Association, worked as anchor at Kuwaiti and Jordanian news channels and was member of the Senate in 2003. The late actor’s career extended over 45 years, and he took part in several television, radio and theatre shows.
