Foreign Ministry monitors situation of Jordanian citizens detained at UK airports

AMMAN — The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday that is closely monitoring the situation of Jordanians detained at several airports in London, United Kingdom, after the denial of entry for various reasons.
According to initial information, these reasons include violations of residency and immigration laws related to hotel bookings and entry instructions for British territory.
Ministry's Spokesperson Sufian Qudah said that the ministry, through the Embassy of Jordan in London, is working with the relevant British authorities to ensure the swift return of the detained citizens to the Kingdom and to understand all the reasons behind the refusal of entry on arrival into the UK.
Qudah also emphasised the need for Jordanians travelling to the United Kingdom to adhere to the new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) instructions for entry into the UK and to use it for its intended purposes.
