Foreign Affairs Committee members meet UK ambassador

AMMAN — Mafraq MP Raed Khazaaleh, who heads the Lower House’s Foreign Affairs Committee, on Thursday highlighted the importance of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on a two-state solution, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and international conventions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Khazaaleh made his remarks during a meeting with UK Ambassador to Jordan Edward Oakden, adding that the conflict is highly detrimental to Arabs and Muslims.
The House committee members outlined challenges facing the Kingdom in light of the refugee influx and regional crises.
For his part, Oakden said that the UK works to support Jordan’s resilience and its economic sustainability. The ambassador said that the UK understands the challenges facing Jordan and the feelings of Arabs and Muslims towards the Palestinian cause, stressing his country’s respect to the wishes to reach a two-state solution.
