FM, UN special envoy for Yemen review peace efforts

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg on Thursday overviewed efforts to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
Safadi emphasised the Kingdom’s support for the special envoy’s efforts towards resolving the Yemeni crisis through the accredited references and the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, reiterating the Kingdom’s continued support for the Amman-based UN mission for Yemen.
Highlighting the importance of strengthening efforts to end the Yemeni crisis, Safadi renewed Jordan’s support for the Saudi initiative aimed to end the crisis.
He also expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of all Houthi militia terrorist practices that target Saudi Arabia’s security, stressing that Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries’ security is part of Jordan’s security.
Grundberg reviewed the latest developments and efforts to end the crisis, expressing appreciation for the Kingdom’s role in maintaining regional security and stability, notably hosting the office of the UN special envoy for Yemen.
