FM, Norwegian counterpart review preparations for int’l aid to Palestine

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, in a phone call on Monday, discussed ways to bolster the Jordanian-Norwegian partnership with Norway’s Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt.
Safadi congratulated Huitfeldt on assuming her responsibilities as Minister of Foreign Affairs, stressing aspiration to continue working together to increase cooperation between the countries in various fields, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The ministers reviewed preparations for the meetings of the Ad-Hoc Liasion Committee (AHLC) on November 17 in Oslo to provide international aid to the Palestinian people to support the Palestinian economy.
They also focused on the international conference to be held in support of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), organised by the Kingdom and Sweden to be held on November 16 in Brussels.
The two ministers agreed to hold extensive talks on ways to develop cooperation and discuss regional developments in Oslo on the sidelines of the AHLC meeting.
