FM meets with World Food Programme executive director

AMMAN —The Kingdom and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) on Thursday discussed means of enhancing cooperation, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, during his meeting with WFP Executive Director David Beasley, voiced appreciation for the WFP's supportive stances in various fields, notably efforts towards meeting Syrian refugees' needs and supporting hosting communities.
To encourage Syrian refugees' voluntary return to their homeland, Safadi called for working towards creating the circumstances necessary for their return, underscoring the importance of maintaining stability, especially in southern Syria.
Beasley lauded the Kingdom's "vital" role in hosting Syrian refugees and securing decent living conditions for them. The two sides agreed on furthering cooperation and coordination to address the refugee crisis.
