AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Wednesday met with German Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Niels Annen, focusing on bilateral ties as well as regional and international issues, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The two sides discussed furthering Jordanian-German cooperation as part of a series of talks currently being held in Amman, highlighting a number of priority projects and Germany’s assistance to Jordan.
Stressing the depth of the Jordanian-German relations, they underlined the importance of consolidating cooperation within the framework of their EU partnership, in service of common interests.
Safadi extended appreciation to the support provided by Germany to bolster Jordan’s development and assist the Kingdom in addressing the repercussions of regional crises.
Discussions focused on the Palestinian issue, support to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), the Syrian crisis, Iraq and its stability, energy and food security.
