First shipment of LNG unloaded at liquefied gas terminal

AMMAN — The first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) finished unloading at the floating vessel in the Aqaba LNG terminal on Sunday, said Hassan Hiyari, LNG director at the Energy Ministry.

Hiyari said the ship is the first to anchor at the Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Terminal, laden with 162,000 cubic metres of LNG from Trinidad Island, south of the Caribbean Sea, and it is the second shipment of the contractual amounts with Shell Global.

Moreover, Hiyari said Shell Global will supply 15 LNG shipments to the National Electric Power Company during the second half of 2015.
