Kharabsheh said that the academy aims to improve the know-how, communication skills and interventional pain management skills of doctors who deal with patients with chronic pain.

He added that it also offers courses for anesthesiologists, rheumatologists, rehabilitation physicians, musculoskeletal radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists and physicians with a special interest in chronic pain medicine.

Kharabsheh pledged that the academy will support education, clinical treatment and research of all pain conditions, and translate this knowledge into improved pain relief and safe practice worldwide.

The centre and the academy, in cooperation with the Jordan Palliative Care and Pain Management Society, have held several training workshops by a group of Jordanian, European and Asian experts and doctors, which focused on state-of-the-art interventional pain treatment, psychiatry and physical therapy as well as preparing a treatment plan that suits the individual needs of each patient.
