Faraya highlights Interior Ministry’s efforts in developing economy

AMMAN — The security base of Jordan is strong and stable despite challenges arising from regional turmoil, Interior Minister Mazen Faraya said on Saturday
Faraya’s remarks came during a discussion session organised by the Jordan Economic Forum to discuss the ministry's role in developing the national economy, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister provided a detailed overview of the ministry's efforts in achieving security and promoting the welfare of citizens.
He highlighted the efforts made by the ministry and its security and administrative agencies to accelerate the Jordanian economy, including the e-visa service launched by the ministry, which helped attract more individuals and investments into the Kingdom.
Faraya also noted the adoption of a system that allows holders of US and Schengen visas who are nationalities requiring prior approval to enter the Kingdom, along with the issuance of a 5-year visa.
Faraya also spoke about the ministry's efforts in digital transformation to facilitate the issuance and extension of residencies for investors and their families.
Among the services, the minister also highlighted the facilitation of family reunions for Syrians residing in the US, Europe and Canada with their families in Syria through tourism in the Kingdom for a month. So far, more than 45,000 tourists made use of this service, he added.
The minister commended the role of the forum in encouraging positive dialogues and presenting viable proposals to relevant stakeholders, which positively contribute to economic policymaking.
